We like this 1995 Ford F-150 XLT because it’s the right mix of modern classic style and a truly useful pickup

After all, fuel-injected V8 power, an overdrive transmission, and a loaded A/C interior are all part of the truck’s anytime appeal.

The Dark Blue Metallic is the factory-correct color and it’s the factory application. It looks good on an XLT-trim level truck. The premium package means the right brightwork with chrome bumpers, a bright tailgate insert, full-length trim, and polished wheels. It all looks good against the dark paint, but the total appearance has a very driver-quality style. That means it’s a truck that you won’t be afraid to use… and real duty is at the heart of a proper pickup. That’s why this has a folding tonneau over the bed, a thick rubber bed mat, and a proper trailer hitch with a wiring plug.

The sea of blue continues inside. This is an actual mileage truck, but the level use is an instant understanding of how much care this one has received over the years. So there’s far less wear than expected in places like the seat, carpeting, and door panels. So it all makes for an impressively preserved and loaded presentation. You have power windows, power locks, cup holders, a driver’s airbag, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. This has dual fuel tanks to take you further down the road. And they made this one long-haul comfortable with a tilt steering column, full gauges w/tach, cruise control, and power lumbar supports in the seats.

Under the hood is the 5.8-liter V8. This was the larger optional V8 the factory offered, and it’s from the modern fuel injection era. So you have a strong powerhouse in a lighter single cab, short bed pickup. So it’s a desirable setup. Plus, you have all-around nice driving features like power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
